Recently I finished playing Ghost of Tsushima by Sucker Punch Productions. I must say this was one of the best games I’ve played to date. If you’re looking for strong action with a gripping storyline then Ghost of Tsushima is for you. There is so much to say about this game but I will keep my review short so you can get a much better experience without any spoilers.

Ghost Of Tsushima Review

The game is based in 13th Century Japan and starts with the Mongol conquest of the island of Tsushima. Our protagonist Jin Sakai, is the head of the Sakai clan and a Samurai warrior. He is the nephew and ward of Lord Shimura, the Jitō of Tsushima.

A vicious army led by Khotun Khan( grandson of Genghis Khan) lands on the island of Tsushima. Jin teams up with the fellow samurai warriors of Tsushima, led by his uncle and Jitō of Tsushima Lord Shimura. The battle turns out to be a disaster for Samurais, with the whole samurai army killed, Lord Shimura captured, and Jin severely injured. Jin is found and aided back

to health by Yuna, a local burglar, who apprise him that most of Tsushima have already fallen into the hands of Mongols. Now, Jin has to free his land and uncle from the mighty Mongols. The story takes us on the journey of Jin Sakai, from a Samurai to a Legend popularly known as the Ghost.

Game mechanics are fine but I think there is always room for improvement. I like the fact that you have to learn new techniques as you progress in the game. One thing that I love about this game is the spectacular views of Tsushima. Proper incorporation of Japanese culture is also a major plus point. This game will make you curious to learn more about Japanese culture. The storyline is the USP of this game.

If you are a fan of stealth games you’ll enjoy the overall experience. There is so much to write about this game but I believe less is more. Somethings are better when you experience them yourself. The factor that makes it stand out in the herd of games is the imperfection of the life that it portrays through the story.
